LAGOS— The Lagos State Kick Against Indiscipline, KAI, brigade has arrested 25 traders for illegally trading at Oke-Odo, Agbado-Oko Odo Local Council Development Area, LCDA.
KAI administrator, Mr. Amos Onipede, who disclosed this in an interview, yesterday, said the operation was carried out in accordance with the state government’s policy to make Lagos clean and free from illegal traders.
Onipede lamented that the traders had converted some sections of the Abeokuta express road to trading space, thereby causing human and vehicular traffic hold up in the area.
He stated that state Government was determined to get rid of all categories of street traders, he appealed to the traders to look for a conducive and legal place to operate their business.
Onipede said that the arrested traders have been handed over to officials of the magistrate court, Alausa for prosecution.
