KANO — THE newly sworn in Caretaker chairman of Kano State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Hassan Kaffayus, has said that the open rebellion by the G-7 Governors would not affect the performance of the party or set up.

Kaffayus who spoke in Kano during the inauguration of other members of his committee at the newly acquired PDP office in the municipality declared that “the court verdict and the INEC pronouncement are pointers that they were expending energy on a lost battle.”

The G-7 Governors comprise mainly Hausa/Fulani governors from in the north.

He said that the north owed President Goodluck Jonathan loyalty and support as they did to former President Olusegun Obasanjo since former northern leaders also enjoyed the support and loyalty of the people of the South-South people during their own time.

Kafayus said, “I do recall that we (Northerners) enjoyed the full support and loyalty of these people while we were occupying the seat of power. We gave the same support to Obasanjo during his tenure and now wonder why President Jonathan is being denied equal treatment.”

Kaffayus stated that the action of the G7 Governors amounted to open declaration of war against God, as according to him, it was God that bestows power on whoever He chose to do so.

Kaffayus who spoke in Hausa amid shouts of Sai Jonathan by thousands of party supporters that witnessed the making ceremony further added that he was ready to shed his blood to reposition the PDP in the state. He said, “Those who posted me here know that I am fearless and I am ready to spill my blood to reposition the party in Kano State.”
