Confab will stem Boko Haram insurgency – Fasheun

By DOTUN IBIWOYE

LAGOS — The Odua Peoples Congress, OPC, yesterday, expressed optimism that the proposed National Conference would bring an end to the activities of the Boko Haram.

Founder of the Odua Peoples Congress, OPC, Dr. Fedrick Fasheun, at a briefing in Lagos, said the insurgents and other aggrieved groups would use the conference as a recipe for peace when everyone came together and discussed about their status in Nigeria.

Fasheun affirmed that the National Conference was necessary and lessons could be learnt from Ethiopia which had one in a 1994 constitution and gave room for the federating ethnic units to ventilate their disparate aspirations.
