ABUJA—A former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Anambra State, Chief Mike Nkwocha, has pleaded with the kidnappers of  the father of the immediate past Central Bank Governor (CBN), Professor Charles  Soludo to release him.

Nkwocha, who was one of the 46 governorship aspirants, who contested the PDP primaries for the February 6, 2010 governorship election  in Anambra State, with Prof. Soludo, warned that the quest for power and money should have a limit.

Nkwocha, who condemned the kidnapping of Pa Soludo, however, challenged the police authorities and other security agencies in the country to unravel, without further delay, those behind the dastardly act.

Nkwocha in a statement in Abuja, yesterday said, “I condemn the kidnapping of the father of Prof. Soludo. Kidnapping, murder, assassination, rape and other acts of violence is never a way to settle political dispute in any decent society. Therefore any politician who involves himself  in such despicable act should be treated like a criminal.

There is no political or moral  reason to justify kidnapping an old man, who was quietly enjoying the deserving peace and solitude of  twilight of his life. I sincerely sympathise with the family of Pa Soludo. I call on the Nigerian Police Force to unravel the kidnapping”.
