Court bars Dafinone, others from arresting community exco

 Sapele High Court, presided over by Justice G.E Gbemre, has barred foremost chartered Accountant, Chief David Dafinone, and five others, from further intimidating, harassing and frequent arrest of Sapele Okpe Community Chairman, Mr. Michael Egbejule and his executive committee members, pending the determination of a Motion on Notice before it.

The court which granted the order on Thursday, following a Motion Ex-parte filed by ten members of Mr. Egbejule’s led executive committee, also barred Chief Dafinone from acting on a purported report of a disciplinary committee which he set up in the community which indicted the chairman of misappropriating community funds, pending the determination of a Motion on Notice before the court.

The court also restrained Chief Dafinone, along with five other defendants from arresting the chairman and his committee members, “in relation to anything purportedly done or undone after their unlawful and forceful removal from office as Executive Committee of Sapele Okpe Community but in furtherance of legally regaining or recovering their positions as executives of the community”, pending the determination of the Motion on Notice before it.

The ten members of Mr. Egbejule’s led executives that filed the Motion Ex-parte which sough the court’s order to restrain Chief Definone and his agents, servants and proxies from using the Nigeria Police Force to further harass, detain, arrest, intimidate or embarrass the embattled chairman, as shown in the certified true copy of the enroment of order, are; Dr Vincent Ekariko, Chief Diamond Abeke, Chief Sunday Temiagin, Chief Fredrick Ebah, Chief Kama Ayomanor, Mr Monday. Obire, Hon. Bright Jebbah, Mr. Sunday Akoko, Mr. America Ayomanor and Mr. Bright Ogodo.

Those restrained along Chief Definone include, Sapele Okpe Community Land Trust Association, Mr. Moses Ogodo, Mr. Solomon Abeke, Mr. Monday Onormor, Mr. Okpako Otarhighobe and Dr Maxwell Opia Ebreme. First Bank Of Nigeria Plc was also named as a defendant.
