Curtain draws on Zenith Bank Basketball League

The Zenith Bank sponsored Female Basketball League comes to a close today with Deep Water Basketball Club attempting to give runner away champions, First Bank a run for their money.

The bankers  won the first two phases of the league and look forward to wrap up victory with a third win today but coach of  Deep water, Lateef Erinfolami said Friday that his girls have overcome their initial fright and would stand their opponents toe to toe.

“Our first two loses were unexpected and caused by anxiety and inexperience but I think we have overcome that now. We have played the national team which is bigger than First Bank and I think they can stand them now,” he said.

Erinfolami, a former national team and Lagos Islanders player however said that today’s last tie between his team and First Bank is “ not a do or die affair. We just need the game to prepare for our continental assignment.”

In the first game of today, Nigeria Immigration Service will square up against AHIP Queens while Dolphins face FCT Angels in the second game. The third encounter is between Customs and Plateau Rocks while the fourth is between Delta Force and Sunshine Angels . All matches hold at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Lagos.
