Tasha Danvers won Bronze in the 400m Hurdles for Great Britain at the  Olympic Games.

An Olympic medalist is a celebrity anywhere. Tasha is one here. And she has warned British athletes and by extension other athletes of the dangers that Olympic Games Village could pose to them

The village can, she says, destroy an athlete who is not focused.

However, Tasha was not in any way condemning the Games Village. But she reminds athletes that  the Olympic Villages are always full of excitement and full of life that an athlete may lose focus.

“In the village there is everything you could imagine regarding entertainment,” Tasha says in her Evening Standard column. “There are discos, internet cafes, movie theatres, and athletes communal areas where you can play snooker, and video games, you name it and it’s there.”

The village has gardens and other fun places and in London here, the Village is beautiful and the  imposing structures are a good piece of art.

At the Beijing Olympics, the first set of condoms (over 20,000) distributed at the Games Village was exhausted and more had to be supplied.

Tasha hopes that athletes would remember what they are in the Olympics for.

”I have recently gone for a look around the London Games Village and I can safely say that it is one of the best that I have seen.

Walking around still gave me the same buzz as it did before but this time it was the feeling of a retired athlete. I will be lying if I say I didn’t miss life as a professional athlete.

It is important athletes know why they are in the games, otherwise, life in the Olympic Village can make them lose focus,” Tasha tells British athletes.

The Village is a real fun-catching place with all the celebrities and stars eating and staying in one place. There are athletes who like catching fun before they go into action on the grounds that it motivates them.

They help themselves in the village but they may also turn distractions to others. Friends are easily made in the village and life can be described as exciting there. When observers say that the Olympics are the greatest show on earth they do not restrict it to the actions at the  games venues, the opening and closing ceremonies.

The general feeling of carnival in and outside the venues and life in and outside the Olympic Village are all part of the fun that makes Olympics absolutely special
