A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress ,APC, Engr. Abdullahi Ramat, has hailed the Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Political and Other Matters, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Masari, for unveiling the Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji International Islamic Learning and Research Centre, describing the initiative as a landmark project that will preserve the legacy of the President’s late mother for generations.

Ramat, in a statement issued in Abuja, said the centre, unveiled during the annual prayer gathering held on June 21 at the National Mosque in honour of the late Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji—stands out as one of the most significant legacy projects ever dedicated to the memory of a national figure.

The event attracted a distinguished gathering of political, traditional and religious leaders, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, governors of Yobe, Borno, Jigawa, Kebbi and Sokoto states, ministers, the Deputy President of the Senate, lawmakers, heads of government agencies, traditional rulers and prominent Islamic scholars.

According to Ramat, more than 1,350 Islamic scholars drawn from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory participated in the programme, reciting the Holy Qur’an and offering prayers for the repose of the late Mogaji’s soul, as well as for peace, unity and prosperity in Nigeria.

He commended Masari for what he described as his unwavering commitment to sustaining the legacy of the late matriarch through impactful humanitarian and community-development projects.

Ramat disclosed that the presidential aide has funded and delivered over 250 boreholes across Northern Nigeria as Sadaqatul Jariyah in honour of Alhaja Mogaji, providing clean and safe water to thousands of residents.

He also noted that Masari is constructing a grand mosque in Kaduna as part of efforts to deepen faith-based development and strengthen community service.

However, he described the newly unveiled Islamic Learning and Research Centre as the flagship of all the legacy projects.

The APC stalwart said the institution is conceived as a world-class digital hub for Islamic scholarship, leveraging science, technology and innovation to connect scholars, researchers and intellectuals across the globe.

“The centre, which will be powered by Artificial Intelligence and accessible worldwide, is expected to become a global repository of Islamic knowledge, research and intellectual advancement for present and future generations,” Ramat said.

He further revealed that Masari announced at the event that he would personally finance the entire project, without soliciting financial assistance from individuals, groups or organisations.

According to him, the declaration drew widespread admiration from participants, many of whom described the initiative as a rare demonstration of loyalty, sacrifice and commitment to preserving the legacy of the President’s mother.

Ramat noted that attendees considered the scale of the projects undertaken in Mogaji’s memory both remarkable and unprecedented, particularly as they are being personally funded by a public official.

He maintained that Masari’s efforts reflect not only personal devotion to the memory of the late Mogaji but also a commitment to the values of service, compassion and nation-building associated with the Tinubu administration.

The memorial gathering ended with special prayers for the late Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji and President Tinubu, with participants seeking divine wisdom, guidance and strength for the President as he continues to steer the affairs of the nation.
