The Organisers of the Africa International Housing Show (AIHS @20 – Legacy Edition) have announced the launch of the AIHS Innovation Hub, a dedicated platform designed to showcase cutting-edge technologies, disruptive ideas, smart construction solutions, and emerging startups transforming the housing and construction industry across Africa.
The Innovation Hub, which will debut during the 20th Anniversary Edition of AIHS from 13th to 18th July 2026 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, is expected to become one of the event’s major attractions, bringing together innovators, PropTech companies, construction technology firms, universities, research institutions, investors, and young entrepreneurs.
Speaking on the initiative, Festus Adebayo, Chief Executive Officer of the Africa International Housing Show, said the future of affordable housing in Africa depends on innovation, technology, and collaboration.
“Africa cannot solve its housing deficit with yesterday’s solutions. The AIHS Innovation Hub is designed to identify, promote, and connect innovators with governments, investors, developers, and industry leaders who are looking for practical solutions that can deliver affordable, sustainable, and scalable housing.”
According to him, the Hub will serve as a marketplace of ideas and technologies where participants can experience the latest advancements in housing and construction.
The AIHS Innovation Hub will feature:
– Alternative Building Technologies
– Artificial Intelligence in Real Estate and Construction
– Smart Home Solutions
– Digital Land Administration Systems
– Building Information Modelling (BIM)
– Green and Climate-Smart Housing Technologies
– Modular and Prefabricated Housing Systems
– Construction Equipment and Robotics
– Renewable Energy Solutions for Housing
– PropTech Startups and Digital Platforms
– Affordable Housing Innovations
– Interior Design and Smart Living Technologies
The Innovation Hub will also provide startups and technology companies with an opportunity to pitch their ideas directly to Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), commercial banks, venture capital firms, private equity investors, governments, real estate developers, and international development partners.
As part of the programme, selected innovators will participate in a special Innovation Pitch Session, where they will present scalable solutions capable of reducing construction costs, improving efficiency, accelerating project delivery, and expanding access to affordable housing for low-income and informal workers.
The organisers believe the initiative will bridge the gap between innovation and implementation by creating direct connections between solution providers and decision-makers.
The Hub will also host live product demonstrations, networking sessions, panel discussions, business matchmaking meetings, and deal-signing opportunities, enabling innovators to secure partnerships and investment commitments during the event.
With over 20,000 participants, more than 400 exhibitors, and delegates from 29 countries expected at AIHS @20, the Innovation Hub is positioned to become Africa’s premier platform for housing technology and construction innovation.
Festus Adebayo called on startups, universities, research institutions, architects, engineers, manufacturers, technology companies, and young innovators from across Africa to take advantage of the platform.
«”The next breakthrough in affordable housing may come from a young innovator, a startup, or a local technology company. AIHS Innovation Hub is where these ideas will meet investors, governments, and industry leaders capable of turning innovation into impact.”»
The Africa International Housing Show (AIHS @20 – Legacy Edition) will hold from 13th to 18th July 2026 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, Nigeria, under the theme:
“Housing Solutions for Low Income and Informal Workers in Africa.”
The AIHS Innovation Hub is expected to reinforce the event’s reputation as Africa’s largest marketplace for housing innovation, investment, partnerships, and sustainable urban development.
