The Labour Party (LP) flag bearer for the 2027 House of Representatives election for Awka North/Awka South Federal Constituency of Anambra State Kachi Aghasili has vowed to preserve the cultural heritage, empower youths and women.

Aghasili made this promise immediately after her victory at the party’s primary election.

Aghasili, a legal practitioner and cultural advocate, noted that her career has been dedicated to preserving cultural heritage, empowering communities, and building sustainable institutions, pledged to bring the same commitment and discipline to legislative service if elected.

“Our campaign will remain focused on practical representation, youth and women empowerment, education, infrastructure advocacy, economic opportunities, cultural preservation, transparency, and accessible governance,” she stated.

Aghasili expressed gratitude to party members and supporters, describing her emergence as a collective triumph for the people of the constituency.

She said the outcome of the primary election signified the continuation of a movement founded on service, integrity, competence, and the shared aspirations of the people of Awka North and Awka South.

“I am deeply honoured and humbled to emerge as the flag bearer of the Labour Party for the House of Representatives, Awka North and South Federal Constituency,” she said.

According to her, the victory belongs to every young person seeking opportunities, every woman deserving of representation, every community yearning for responsive leadership, and every citizen who believes in principled and people-oriented politics.

She thanked the leadership of the Labour Party, delegates, party faithful, supporters, volunteers, and other stakeholders for their confidence in her candidacy.

She further promised to run an issue-based campaign anchored on respect, engagement, and service to the people.

Aghasili described her emergence as evidence of a new generation of leadership taking shape in Anambra State and across Nigeria.

“This moment is proof that a new generation of leadership is rising in Anambra State and across Nigeria—a leadership that listens, serves, and understands that public office is a responsibility to the people, not a privilege above them,” she added.

She called on residents of Awka North and Awka South, irrespective of political affiliation, to join hands in building a more inclusive, accountable, and prosperous future for the constituency.

The LP candidate also prayed for God’s guidance and blessings upon Awka North, Awka South, Anambra State, and Nigeria.
