A new African-built technology venture, Skileman, has announced plans to unveil its skill economy platform.
The firm said this would be done at a briefing scheduled for May 30, 2026, as it seeks to position itself within the global future of work ecosystem.
The company, founded by Seth Chucks and Alex Chucks under Skilconomy LTD, describes itself as a skill economy infrastructure provider designed to connect, organize and empower skilled professionals across Nigeria, Africa and beyond.
Unlike traditional gig or freelance marketplaces, Skileman says its platform is focused on building systems that enhance visibility, trust, digital identity and access to structured opportunities for skilled workers.
The founders said the long-term vision is to create infrastructure capable of serving more than three billion skilled professionals globally.
According to them, many skilled workers, including artisans, technicians, creatives and service providers, remain excluded from formal economic systems despite possessing valuable competencies.
“Human skills remain one of the world’s most underutilized economic assets,” the founders said. “Our mission is to help create infrastructure that allows skilled professionals to participate more effectively in the future of work.”
Skileman is currently in its MVP development stage but says it has been building early momentum through community engagement, educational programmes and ecosystem development initiatives.
The company has also established internal structures including the Skileman Global Vanguard Network (SGVN), a technical team known as Skileman Founding Engineers (SFE), and a media unit responsible for communications and outreach.
It said these groups have supported awareness campaigns, onboarding sessions, seminars and community engagements aimed at introducing the concept of a structured skill economy.
The founders said the broader objective goes beyond technology development, adding that properly organized skilled labour could contribute significantly to productivity, entrepreneurship and job creation across Africa.
They also said the initiative reflects the need for African innovators to build systems that organize talent and create economic opportunities at scale.
The upcoming Skileman App Launch Briefing will feature presentations on the product roadmap, MVP demonstration, ecosystem strategy and plans to onboard an initial 5,000 skilled professionals.
The event will also include guest speaker sessions, partner engagement discussions, live demonstrations and interactive question-and-answer segments.
The company said it has recently recorded progress in its development phase, including active MVP work, expansion of its online community and growing public interest, with more than 1,000 followers on TikTok.
Skileman said it is prioritising long-term value creation as it prepares for public rollout, adding that its focus is not on hype but on building infrastructure for the global skill economy.
