… Approves Recruitment of Additional 1,500 Civil Servants

Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas of Taraba state has ordered the reinstatement and issuance of fresh appointment letters to over 3,187 civil servants previously dismissed after being tagged as ghost workers.
Additionally, the Governor has approved the recruitment of 1,500 new civil servants to bolster the state’s workforce.
The Commissioner of Information, Zainab Usman Jalingo, disclosed these developments during a press briefing on Thursday following the State Executive Council meeting.
She confirmed that the reinstated staff will be fully integrated into the state civil service under new, regularized employment terms.
The State Head of Service, Dr. Hamidu Kara, who also spoke described the reinstatement of the dismissed workers as a Sallah gift from the Governor to those who were previously caught up in the state’s rigorous verification exercise.
Regarding the new recruitment drive, Dr. Kara noted that the state will soon place advertisements in national dailies to invite applications from qualified residents.
He emphasized that this upcoming recruitment process is designed to correct federal character imbalances across the 16 local government areas of the state to balance the gaps in previous employment exercises.
