The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has continued to advance efforts in Christian Social Responsibility (CSR) locally and internationally. With its mission to ignite the fresh fire of reaching out to souls in the community, the RCCG Youth Province 1 (YP1) has successfully hosted the groundbreaking CSR Summit 2026, a transformational gathering focused on redefining how churches engage their communities through intentional Christian Social Responsibility (CSR).
The summit, held in Lagos, brought together pastors, ministry leaders, workers, and change-makers from across Nigeria and marked a significant step toward positioning churches as centers of transformation, rehabilitation, empowerment, and social impact. The event featured powerful sessions, strategic panel discussions, and practical insights aimed at helping churches grow not only spiritually and numerically but also in relevance and social impact.
The Assistant Pastor in Charge of Province CSR, Pastor Martins Olusakin, revealed that the summit was not intended to be a one-time event but the beginning of a movement that would empower churches to become visible forces of transformation within their communities.
Pastor in Charge of Youth Province 1, Pastor Oluwagbemileke Adeboye, speaking from Matthew 25:35-36, established that “…for the basis of Christianity, this is how we are meant to push the love of Christ.”
Pastor Martins Olusakin further spoke about the impact that Youth Province 1 is making in different spheres. He noted that Youth Province One has spent over ₦37 million feeding more than 3,500 people weekly over the past 11 months. Apart from that, the church has also spent over ₦18 million providing quality education for young people through scholarships and back-to-school initiatives. The church has also impacted the community through skill acquisition, provision of health care services (including payment of medical bills), and provision of business support grants.
The national coordinator 2 of RCCG CSR, Pastor Detola Akinremi, explained that spiritual and physical parameters measure church growth. From institutional outreaches, church attendance had seen a measurable increase, making emphasis on CSR for results a tool for church growth, and it should be approached objectively.
Pastor Detola disclosed further that the RCCG is embarking on two major projects valued at over one billion naira: a 750-seat theater at Redeemer’s University, as part of its Sustainable Development Growth initiative for education, and an Intensive Care Unit in Osun State, Nigeria.
He stated that RCCG has the greatest impact on healthcare in Nigeria, citing the construction of three dialysis centers valued at over half a billion naira, compared to the federal government’s N35 million capital expenditure on health. He added that churches invest in building social institutions such as rehabilitation centers, rather than focusing on distributing foodstuffs.
The summit also featured impactful contributions from distinguished ministers and speakers, including Coordinator of Positive Turn Initiative (PTI) Pastor Tosin Oluwatuase; Assistant Pastor in Charge of Province Admin Pastor Abiodun Famojuro; Pastor Noah Osato; and Pastor Joseph Onoselease, who simplified practical strategies and real-life experiences on sustainable outreach, intentional and structured CSR, and church expansion.
With an improved understanding of CSR from the summit, there was immediate feedback as participants expressed strong interests in implementing initiatives such as prison outreaches, community feeding projects, rehabilitation support systems, and skill acquisition and empowerment programs.
RCCG Youth Province 1 (YP1), led by Pastor Leke Adeboye with his assistants, Pastor Martins Olusakin (CSR) and Pastor Abiodun Famojuro (Admin), actively engages in Christian Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives focused on community support, education, healthcare, and humanitarian aid as practical expressions of Christian faith.
The YP1 CSR Summit 2026 serves as a bold call to other churches to embrace outreach, compassion, innovation, and responsibility as essential tools for kingdom growth and societal transformation.
Major gains from the summit were strategies around street church expressions, rehabilitation and reintegration, mental health and addiction support, affordable outreach systems for churches, and community integration to support the church’s sustainable impact.
