QNET urges support for mothers’ wellness on Mother’s Day

By Juliet Umeh

As families across the world celebrate Mother’s Day, global lifestyle and wellness-focused direct selling company, QNET, has honoured mothers as the everyday force behind healthier homes, stronger families and resilient communities.

The company noted that despite the critical roles mothers play in managing households, supporting family wellbeing and balancing careers with personal responsibilities, their own wellness is often neglected.

QNET said the fast-paced nature of modern living continues to place pressure on human energy and wellbeing, citing recent surveys showing that 75 per cent of Nigerian employees experience work-related stress, while 60 per cent report persistent feelings of overwhelm.

According to the company, the situation is more demanding for women and mothers who, in addition to professional responsibilities, often shoulder the burden of childcare, household wellbeing and daily family routines.

It added that the continuous cycle of responsibilities leaves little room for rest, recovery or intentional self-care, increasing the risk of long-term physical and mental strain.

QNET also highlighted challenges around access to basic wellness essentials, referencing data from the WHO and UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme, which showed that 28 percent of Nigerians lack access to basic drinking water, while about 75 percent lack basic sanitation.

The company further stated that two-thirds of Nigerians do not have handwashing facilities with soap and water, while 20 percent practise open defecation.

Speaking on the significance of Mother’s Day, General Manager of QNET Nigeria, Ayokunmi Solesi, said mothers remain the backbone of many households.

“Mothers give their time, energy and care so consistently that their own wellbeing can sometimes take a back seat. Mother’s Day is an important reminder that supporting mothers’ health and wellness is not just a personal priority, but a family and societal one,” he said.

Solesi added that the company’s 2026 global campaign, “Energised, Every Day,” focuses on practical wellness solutions that support everyday living.

“When mothers are well-supported and energised, it positively impacts the entire household. Wellness should be part of daily life,” he added.

QNET said there is a growing global shift towards preventive and lifestyle-based wellness through simple and consistent healthy habits such as proper nutrition, hydration, rest and balance, especially for people managing demanding schedules.

To support this approach, the company said it offers products including EDG3 Plus nutritional supplements, which provide nutrients aimed at supporting daily vitality and maintaining energy levels.

It also highlighted HomePure Nova, designed to improve the quality of drinking water at home, and Amezcua Bio Disc 3, which it described as part of its wellness range aimed at supporting overall wellbeing and healthier living environments.

The company urged families and communities to go beyond celebrating mothers during Mother’s Day by actively supporting their wellbeing and encouraging healthier daily habits.
