Prominent data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) expert, Dr Domor Mienye, has held strategic talks with the Bayelsa State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Mr Brisibe Henry Kpodoh, on governance, economic diversification, and sustainable development in the state.
The meeting focused on key areas including the blue economy, energy transition, youth empowerment, digital transformation, and the need for structured, execution-driven governance in Bayelsa.
Dr Mienye, who was recently ranked among the Top 2% of Scientists globally by Stanford University and Elsevier in 2024 and 2025, stressed the importance of moving beyond potential to actual results through clear strategies and modern systems.
“Bayelsa has the resources and the people, but what is required is a clear strategy backed by systems that ensure execution, accountability, and measurable outcomes,” he said.
He added that his engagement with political stakeholders forms part of broader consultations aimed at bringing structured thinking, data-driven systems, and innovation into governance.
“My focus is on how we can bring structured thinking, data-driven systems, and innovation into governance to drive real impact. I believe Bayelsa has the capacity to become a leading example of sustainable and innovation-driven development in Nigeria,” Dr Mienye stated.
He further expressed readiness to contribute meaningfully to the state’s leadership trajectory, saying:
**“There is a need for leadership that combines vision, competence, and execution. I am committed to contributing to that process in a meaningful and structured way.”**
In his response, APGA State Chairman, Mr Brisibe Henry Kpodoh, welcomed the engagement and reaffirmed the party’s openness to working with professionals and credible stakeholders committed to the progress of Bayelsa.
“APGA is committed to promoting credible leadership and engaging individuals who have the capacity and vision to move the state forward. Conversations like this are important as we continue to strengthen our structure and prepare for the future,” he said.
The meeting explored opportunities for collaboration in policy development, innovation-driven economic strategies, and greater youth participation in governance.
The engagement is part of ongoing consultations involving political leaders, professionals, and stakeholders aimed at advancing practical and sustainable development solutions for Bayelsa State.
