The President of the Nigeria Youth Cooperation and Progress (NYCOP), Abdulrahman Bashir Saleh, has inaugurated the leadership of the Kaduna State wing of the organisation as part of efforts to strengthen its structure and expand youth development initiatives across the country.
The inauguration, which marks a major step in NYCOP’s drive to deepen its presence at the state level, is aimed at promoting youth unity, empowerment, self-reliance and community development.
Officials inaugurated to lead the Kaduna State chapter include Nura Illiyasu as Acting Chairman, Wisdom Luka as Acting Secretary, Halima Sani Jibril as Treasurer, and Dorcas Elisha as Women Leader.
Speaking during the ceremony, Saleh expressed confidence in the ability of the newly appointed officials to effectively discharge their responsibilities.
He said the appointments reflected the organisation’s commitment to building a disciplined, strong and result-oriented leadership structure capable of advancing youth development and contributing to national progress.
According to him, the Kaduna leadership is expected to mobilise youths, strengthen unity among members and coordinate empowerment programmes that will positively impact young people and their communities.
Saleh added that the programmes would include skill acquisition initiatives, educational and enlightenment campaigns, humanitarian outreach, youth engagement activities and other lawful interventions aimed at improving the welfare of youths.
Also speaking, the National Treasurer of NYCOP, Shakirat Oluwatoyin Hamza, urged the newly inaugurated officials to justify the confidence reposed in them by carrying out their duties with commitment, honesty and dedication.
She encouraged them to work in unity, uphold the values of the organisation and remain focused on the collective goal of empowering youths and promoting meaningful development in Kaduna State.
Saleh further called on members of the organisation in the state to support the new leadership, stressing that unity, discipline and teamwork are critical to the success of NYCOP’s programmes.
He noted that the inauguration of the Kaduna State leadership underscores the organisation’s determination to build a vibrant and effective structure nationwide that will provide Nigerian youths with stronger representation and greater opportunities for growth and service.
