Senator Ned Munir Nwoko has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Sir Chamberlain Dunkwu, who served as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Nwoko disclosed this in a statement he personally signed on Sunday, describing the late Dunkwu as a trusted ally, dependable associate and a committed advocate for the progress of his people.
The senator said the news of Dunkwu’s death came as a painful loss, noting that it was difficult to come to terms with the reality that someone so full of purpose and dedication was gone.
“Chamberlain was a steadfast confidant, a loyal compatriot and a man whose counsel I valued deeply. He was steady, dependable and always ready to lend both his voice and his strength whenever duty called,” Nwoko stated.
He said the death of Dunkwu represents a significant loss to the Anioma community and the Ika nation, describing the late public servant as an illustrious leader who was committed to the development of his people.
According to the senator, Dunkwu distinguished himself through courage, intellect and an unwavering dedication to service.
“For me personally, I have lost a strong voice, one that spoke truth with clarity and stood firmly for what was right,” he added.
Reflecting on the loss, Nwoko noted that moments of death often remind people of the fragile nature of life, saying it was difficult to comprehend the sudden departure of someone with so much promise and energy.
He, however, said the late Dunkwu’s legacy would endure through the lives he touched and the values he represented.
“Chamberlain’s memory will endure in the lives he touched, in the ideals he stood for and in the lasting imprint he leaves on our collective journey,” the statement added.
