A candidate for the 1st Vice President of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), Engr. Ezonebi Oyakemeagbegha, has said stakeholders from the Western Zone have micro-zoned the position to his clan, Tuomo, ahead of the March 7, 2026 elections.
The INC’s Western Zone covers Ijaw communities in Delta, Edo, and Ondo States.
Oyakemeagbegha, the outgoing Publicity Secretary of the INC, made the announcement on Tuesday in Yenagoa, highlighting his achievements in the role, including the production of a detailed map identifying Ijaw communities and territories, which he said helped prevent attempts by other ethnic groups to annex Ijaw lands.
“Stakeholders from the Western Zone of the INC met and micro-zoned the position of 1st Vice President in the forthcoming national elections to my clan, Tuomo. They also called on me to contest for the position because of my trajectory of meritorious service to the Ijaw nation as Publicity Secretary in the outgoing National Executive Council of the INC,” he said.
He expressed confidence in his candidacy, adding, “By God’s grace, I’ll win. When elected, I intend to do more as 1st Vice President of the INC for the Ijaw nation.”
Oyakemeagbegha’s declaration underscores his commitment to further serving the Ijaw nation and consolidating his contributions from his four-year tenure as Publicity Secretary.
