Delta State — A five-day capacity-building programme on phone repairs sponsored by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has concluded successfully, equipping 50 youths with practical technical skills to enhance their employability and entrepreneurial prospects.
The training, held from February 9 to 13 and executed by Papi Efe Nig. Ltd., focused on hands-on instruction in mobile phone diagnostics, maintenance, and repair. The initiative forms part of NCDMB’s broader commitment to local capacity development and youth empowerment.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of Papi Efe Nig. Ltd., Stanley Umukoro, expressed appreciation to NCDMB for sponsoring the programme. He noted that the initiative would create new opportunities for beneficiaries to build sustainable livelihoods.
“We’re thrilled to have been part of this initiative, and we’re confident that the skills imparted will open up new avenues for these young people,” he said.
Participants, who received certificates and toolkits at the end of the training, praised the Board for providing them with a valuable skill set that will enable them to start their own businesses and contribute to their communities.
The programme is expected to strengthen Nigeria’s informal sector while promoting youth empowerment and economic growth through skills acquisition.
