Reverend Lewis Afolabi , has assured that the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria , APBN, would take steps to eliminate quacks from the jobs handled by professionals.
Giving the assurance shortly after his decoration as the new Chairman of the Delta state chapter of APBN at its 13th annual general assembly in Warri , Afolabi said it was high time professionals were allowed to do their jobs.
“The association will go to greater heights. Our interface with the government and the public will be greater. The public must know who is a taxation expert and who other professionals are “, he said.
Afolabi also lauded the founding fathers of the association and past leaders , promising that the new executive body would sustain their vision. He commended his immediate predecessor , Surveyor Victor Ezie , stressing that he would continue the good work of his administration.
Afolabi further presented an award of excellence to his predecessor Surveyor Ezie , describing him as an achiever.
” I have a special presentation to make to the immediate past chairman Surveyor Ezie . He is a silent achiever, a leader. I present this award of excellence in service to the outgoing chairman ,my immediate predecessor.”, he said.
Earlier in his address , the immediate past Chairman of the body in the state, Surveyor Ezie rolled out some of the achievements of his administration which he said included media advocacy, adding that the chapter contributed immensely in the making of the Delta state physical planning and urban renewal law 2024.
He said the flagship football tournament of the body was held after four years , noting that to further institutionalize the tournament two trophies in honour of late Surveyor Chief Francis Overare and Chief Enoch Ogbo were introduced.
He said he was happy that the NBA and the NITP had returned to the association.
