A new entrant, AfriMillions, has unveiled a ₦1 billion weekly progressive lottery in Nigeria, with its inaugural live draw broadcast on Wazobia Max TV and radio.

The first draw, held on Saturday, marked the official rollout of the platform’s flagship ₦1 billion mega jackpot and was conducted live in the presence of regulators and independent observers, as part of efforts to assure transparency and compliance with gaming regulations.
Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority, Mr. Bashir Abiola Are, was present at the draw, underscoring regulatory oversight of the process. Organisers said the draw procedure and results would also be subjected to independent verification by certified observers.

The live draw was hosted by Mannie Essien and transmitted simultaneously on television and radio, a format the organisers said was adopted to strengthen public confidence in the integrity of the process.

AfriMillions operates as a mobile-first digital lottery platform and is positioning itself within Nigeria’s regulated gaming space. According to the organisers, the platform will run a ₦1 billion jackpot draw weekly, alongside daily games.

The company also disclosed plans to introduce a shared-ticket feature that would allow multiple participants to jointly hold a single lottery ticket, a concept it described as an extension of traditional lottery syndicates into a digital format.

The AfriMillions draw is scheduled to air every Saturday at 8:00 p.m. on Wazobia Max TV and radio. The platform is partnering with ATL Group, an international lottery solutions provider, for its operations.
