As Bomadi LG Chairman, Wife Host First Lady

BOMADI — The Wife of the Governor of Delta State, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, on today marked her 56th birthday with widows and elderly persons in Bomadi, headquarters of Bomadi Local Government Area, spreading a message of hope and renewed commitment to inclusive development under the state government’s Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda.

The First Lady, who arrived at the Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori Ultra-Modern Multipurpose Event Centre in Bomadi before noon, expressed delight at the warm reception accorded her and her entourage by the people of the riverine community.

Represented by her daughter, Barrister Omonigho Oborevwori, the celebrant assured widows and elderly citizens of the administration’s continued commitment to improving the welfare of women and other vulnerable groups across the state.

She thanked the Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, Hon. Rawlings Dagidi Andaye, and his wife, Mrs. Rejoice Andaye, for hosting her, and appreciated political associates, friends and well-wishers from Bomadi, Patani, Burutu and other riverine communities who came to celebrate with her.

“I am profoundly grateful for the warm welcome and for joining me in this celebration. I sincerely appreciate the chairman of Bomadi Local Government Council, his wife, and the entire riverine people for their support,” she said.

She reaffirmed that the Delta State Government, under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, remains committed to enhancing the lives and wellbeing of women, the vulnerable and all citizens of the state.

In his remarks, Hon. Andaye described the First Lady as an embodiment of womanhood and a worthy partner to her husband, urging women to emulate her virtues in their homes and communities.

“We are honoured to host the First Lady in Bomadi during her birthday celebration. Deaconess Oborevwori is a woman of value, a devoted wife and a compassionate leader who has chosen to celebrate by reaching out to widows and the elderly,” he said, pledging continued prayers and support for her family and the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda.

Mrs. Rejoice Andaye, fondly referring to the celebrant as “Mama Delta,” described her as a mother, role model and mentor to women across the state, wishing her many more years of good health and service.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Patani Local Government Area, Hon. Isaac Aguanah, commended Deaconess Oborevwori for celebrating her birthday with the less privileged in the riverine communities, assuring her of the unwavering support of the people of Patani towards the state government’s development agenda.

The event climaxed with the cutting of the birthday cake, followed by the distribution of gift items to widows and elderly persons. Items distributed included wrappers, bags of rice, cartons of noodles, yams, bags of salt and other essential foodstuffs.
