Oyo State has honoured popular tech entrepreneur, Tunde Buremo, with the Change Maker Award in the Technology Category, in recognition of his contributions to technology-driven innovation and the development of scalable digital platforms serving users across Nigeria and Africa at large.

The award was presented by the Governor Seyi Makinde, weekend, at the Lekan Salami Stadium, as part of activities marking Oyo State’s 50th anniversary, a milestone celebration reflecting on the state’s progress while recognising individuals whose work continues to shape its future.

Buremo was among a select group of honourees recognised during the anniversary.

Acknowledging the laurel, Buremo described the recognition as deeply personal, noting that it “hits differently when you are being acknowledged by your own state.”

He said the honour had humbled him and reaffirmed his commitment to building impactful technology solutions, adding that he hopes to drive even greater impact in the coming years.

“This is an award that leaves a lasting imprint in my life. I have always done my things to the good services of people and watching the youths of which I belong grow is something I cherished. The recognition by the state government will drive me to do more.”

Buremo is a technology entrepreneur and founder of Cardify Africa, a fintech platform whose solutions revolve around the creation and funding of virtual dollar cards for international payments and have since expanded into broader alternative payment services.
