The Aunt Landa’s Bethel Foundation, in partnership with the Aunt Landa’s Free Tertiary Academy, has announced the 13th edition of its flagship humanitarian initiative, Aunt Landa’s Free Market Square 2025.
Themed “From Scarcity to Smiles,” the event will take place on Monday, 22 December 2025 at the Amichi Civic Centre, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos.
Aunt Landa’s Free Market Square lets vulnerable individuals and families “shop” for essentials at no cost using the specially created Aunt Landa Love Currency (Aunt Landa Dollar), a zero‑naira token symbolizing compassion, dignity and divine love. Widows, children, the elderly, single mothers, displaced persons and families facing severe hardship will receive free food, clothing, shoes, medical care and hygiene supplies, plus a professional photography session at the Aunt Landa’s Free Wonderland.
Founder Dr Yolanda N. George‑David (Aunt Landa) said, “Each year the number of people in need rises. Behind every statistic is a family trying to survive. The Free Market Square is our response to that pain. This edition is designed to restore dignity, provide immediate relief and empower people to smile again.”
Beyond relief items, the 13th edition will offer free vocational training through the Aunt Landa’s Free Tertiary Academy—covering catering, hairstyling, saponification, crafts and more. Selected beneficiaries will receive empowerment tools such as sewing machines, grinding machines, popcorn makers, hair dryers, generators and sealing machines to start or sustain small businesses.
Previous editions have impacted over 5,000 women and children; the 2025 edition aims to reach more than 3,000 vulnerable families, with over 11,000 food‑pack requests already recorded. The event will be supported by relief ambassadors, volunteers, medical professionals, vocational trainers and community partners operating both on‑site and online.
