AWLO celebrates Dr. Emem Alban with African Woman of Worth 2025 Honour

The African Women in Leadership Organisation (AWLO) has honoured Dr. Emem Aniekanabasi Alban, Founder of the End Hunger Humanitarian Initiative (EHHI), with the prestigious African Woman of Worth 2025 Award, alongside her formal induction as a Patroness of AWLO.

The recognition took place during AWLO’s 16th Anniversary Induction Ceremony, End-of-Year Lecture, and Partners Awards Dinner, hosted at the Four Points by Sheraton in Ikot Ekpene, widely known as the Raffia City of Akwa Ibom State.

The African Woman of Worth Award is reserved for women whose leadership and service have produced lasting social impact. Dr. Alban was acknowledged for her sustained humanitarian efforts in tackling hunger, improving child nutrition, empowering women, and promoting inclusive food systems through EHHI’s grassroots-driven programs.

Her elevation to the role of Patroness underscores AWLO’s confidence in her vision and advocacy, as well as her alignment with the organisation’s mission to advance women’s leadership, policy participation, and socio-economic development across Africa.

In her acceptance remarks, Dr. Alban described the honour as a shared victory for women, volunteers, and development partners committed to restoring dignity and opportunity to underserved communities.

The anniversary celebration also featured the AWLO HeForShe Champions of the Year 2025 Awards, spotlighting male advocates who have demonstrated exceptional support for gender equality and inclusive leadership.

The high-level gathering attracted AWLONIANS, policymakers, development experts, private sector stakeholders, and civil society leaders from across the continent, reinforcing AWLO’s growing stature as a hub for transformative leadership.
