Jos – Voter registration is being taken directly to the doorsteps of Plateau residents in the rural communities as the One Voice Group, in collaboration with the Plateau Unity Touching Lives Welfare Foundation, launches a community-based mobilisation drive across all 17 Local Government Areas.

The initiative, described by Founder, Aaron Arigbe as “a mission to ensure no eligible citizen is left out,” is bringing registration services into villages, settlements, and hard-to-reach communities.

Under the new plan, mobile units operated in partnership with INEC officials will move from one community to another, targeting areas where limited transport and long travel distances have discouraged voter participation.

The door-to-door strategy is expected to reduce the long-standing barriers that rural dwellers, elderly residents, and young first-time voters face when attempting to register.

The programme comes as Nigerians prepare for the 2027 general elections.

With the State’s population spread widely across remote terrains, organisers say the initiative is not only timely but necessary for strengthening democratic inclusion.

Arigbe said the campaign reflects a commitment to citizens’ rights and the integrity of elections.

He stated, “This is about strengthening democracy, giving power to the people. Your voice matters, and we want every Plateau resident to participate, the goal is for every eligible voter to confidently say, “I am registered, and I will vote.”
