…Delivers Infrastructure, Furniture, Scholarships Nationwide

The Harvesters Africa Empowerment Foundation (HAEF) has announced the successful execution of its 2025 Back-to-School Initiative, a comprehensive education-focused campaign that delivered infrastructure upgrades, classroom furniture, books, uniforms, and scholarships to students across six communities in Nigeria.

This year’s program featured a groundbreaking partnership with the SOHCAHTOA Foundation, Center for Legal Support and Inmate Rehabilitation (CELSIR) and the Ikoyi Correctional Centre, integrating correctional rehabilitation with community development.

Through the “Empower to Rebuild” program, inmates undergoing vocational training produced 100 three-seater classroom desks, helping provide adequate seating for over 300 students in public schools.

HAEF and CELSIR further facilitated the issuance of trade test certifications for inmates through the Lagos State Ministry of Labour, equipping them for productive reintegration.

Across Nigeria, HAEF executed multiple projects impacting thousands of students:
Makoko (Hope for the Slum School) – 150 uniforms, 42 desks (seating 126), 750 books, and road rehabilitation, St. Jude’s Anglican Primary School – 30 desks, school wear, and 600 books, James Opeyemi Foundation Outreach – 2,000 books, Kuramo Secondary School – classroom furniture and renovation, LEA Primary School, Abuja – 25 chairs, Scholarships – fees for 5 vulnerable students.

According to Pastor Bolaji Idowu, Founder of HAEF, “Education is one of the greatest levers for long-term transformation. Our strategy is simple target communities with the highest need and intervene with dignity-centered support. This year, we demonstrated that empowerment can also rebuild lives behind prison walls. We are proud to see inmates actively shaping the future of young Nigerians.”
