ORCA unveils Africa’s largest home, lifestyle showroom in Lagos

Global home and lifestyle retailer, ORCA, has expanded its footprint in Africa with the launch of its largest showroom on the continent in Lagos, signalling renewed investor confidence in Nigeria’s consumer market despite prevailing economic headwinds.

The new showroom—located in Eko Atlantic City, Lagos— at 50,000 square metres with more than 100,000 SKUs across four floors — is now the biggest home and lifestyle retail space in West Africa.

ORCA, which operates in 22 African countries, said the Lagos investment forms part of its long-term growth strategy to consolidate market share across the region.
The company noted that Nigeria’s large population, rising urbanisation rate and increasing demand for modern home solutions made Lagos a strategic choice for its flagship operation.

Founded over two decades ago in Dakar, Senegal, ORCA has evolved into a key player in Africa’s organised retail sector. The Lagos showroom, which features categories such as furniture, décor, lighting, kitchenware, outdoor items, children’s products and lifestyle accessories, is expected to further strengthen its competitive positioning.

According to the company, the expansion demonstrates its commitment to Africa’s retail economy and reflects optimism about Nigeria’s medium- to long-term consumer spending potential.

Speaking on the investment, the founders said Nigeria remains a critical growth market for the brand.
“Nigeria represents possibility. ORCA is proud to bring a world-class home and lifestyle experience to Lagos, supporting how millions of people shape the spaces they live, work and grow in,” they noted in a statement.

Industry analysts say the opening could stimulate competition in Nigeria’s home and lifestyle retail segment, attract complementary investments into Eko Atlantic City and boost employment opportunities within the sector.

With existing operations in Senegal, Ivory Coast, Gabon and several other countries, the Lagos launch solidifies ORCA’s West African expansion drive and reinforces the company’s long-term confidence in the region’s retail future.
