Lagos – Moyosore Alabi, a staff of Kenny Commodities Merchant Company, was on Friday charged at the Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court for allegedly defrauding a company of N287,000.
Alabi, 28, who pleaded not guilty, is arraigned on a two-count charge of stealing and fraud.
Police prosecutor Eshiet Eshiet alleged that the defendant, who lives in the Ojota area of Lagos, allegedly stole N235, 650 from the company.
“The defendant, after stealing from the company, also forged an Access Bank teller to defraud the company of N51,700,” he said.
Eshiet told the court that the incident happened between Jan. 18 and March 21 at the company premises at Von Bus stop, Mushin, Lagos, and that the offences contravened Sections 285 and 363 of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
Chief Magistrate Oyindamola Ogala granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case to June 20 for mention. (NAN)
