…Sets Tone for BLOCKF3ST Africa 2025

Renowned Web3 investor and founder of Nirvana Academy, Samuel Olaoyenikan, convened 50 of Africa’s brightest minds in Lagos for the second edition of the exclusive Nirvana Village Square (NVS), a strategic, closed-door gathering focused on shaping the next chapter of Africa’s decentralized tech ecosystem.

The invite-only session provided deep, actionable insights into scaling businesses, managing perceptions, and building sustainable systems in the Web3 space. Designed to bridge the gap between knowledge and execution, NVS continues to serve as a platform for builders, investors, researchers, and creatives to share ideas and foster high-level collaborations.

Speaking at the event, Olaoyenikan underscored the importance of understanding people as the key to business scalability in Web3.

“The secret to scaling is understanding people. Going from zero to lots of revenue becomes easy when you understand this. People’s businesses are other people! For example, if you’re an excellent researcher, you could strike a deal with someone who has lots of liquidity to help them spot profitable investment opportunities in exchange for a percentage of the profits. I’ve seen many people make their first one million with this particular approach,” he said.

He also advised attendees to develop a better approach to short- and long-term goal setting, warning against the common pitfall of poor financial projections in the Web3 space.

“There should be money you are aiming to make for the short term. But there should also be clear long-term goals. The ability to properly differentiate between these two is what helps you achieve profitable longevity in Web3,” he added.

Another central theme of the event was the global perception of African-built Web3 products. Olaoyenikan pointed to external misconceptions as a major barrier to adoption, urging local builders to take control of their narrative.

“Changing this narrative starts with us,” he said. “African builders must take control of how we are seen globally. That’s what Nirvana Village Square stands for—and it’s the vision we’re amplifying at BLOCKF3ST Africa.”

All eyes are now on BLOCKF3ST Africa, a major follow-up event scheduled for Saturday, October 11, 2025, in Lagos. Unlike the intimate nature of NVS, BLOCKF3ST Africa will be open to the public and is expected to attract talent from across DeFi, gaming, development, trading, research, writing, and venture capital sectors.

Dubbed the “Super Bowl of Web3,” BLOCKF3ST Africa will prioritize collaboration over competition, offering what organizers describe as an immersive experience powered by community-driven innovation. Volunteer applications are already open, and preparations are underway to host what many are calling the most anticipated blockchain event on the continent.

Olaoyenikan’s final message to the ecosystem was both a challenge and a rallying cry.
