Ibadan-born music talent, Folarin Usman Babatunde, widely known by his stage name King Soundboi, has just released a fresh lambapiano track titled “Alimama,” adding yet another feather to his already vibrant music career.
Known for his genre-blending mastery, King Soundboi has steadily built a name for himself in Nigeria’s independent music scene. Long before he began releasing his own songs, King Soundboi had already immersed himself in the technical side of music—as a disc jockey, producer, and sound engineer. According to him, the name “King Soundboi” was born out of this deep-rooted relationship with music.
Over the years, King Soundboi has delivered hit after hit, with fan favorites and notable tracks like Tinuke, Nawoya, Sisi Latifat, Sanwo Mi, and Instagram Lies, among others, demonstrating his versatility and connection to street sounds, contemporary vibes, and relatable storytelling.
His latest release, “Alimama,” taps into the emerging lambapiano wave—a fusion of Amapiano rhythms with local Nigerian lamba (street-style lyrical play). It’s a catchy, high-energy track designed to get listeners moving while still maintaining King Soundboi’s authentic, homegrown vibe.
“Alimama” follows closely on the heels of his previous joint effort ‘Tinuke and Nawoya’, King Soundboi proves once again that he’s not just riding the wave—he’s helping to shape it.
As one of the standout voices coming out of Ibadan’s evolving music landscape, King Soundboi continues to push boundaries and connect with fans both locally and globally. “Alimama” is now available across all streaming platforms.
