The Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Award, NHEA, 2025 has announced the PharmAccess Foundation SafeCare Award categories and the nominees.
This marks 10 years of collaboration between NHEA and PharmAccess Foundation, aimed at recognising healthcare facilities committed to quality improvement.
The two award categories for this year include the PharmAccess Most Active Public Facility on the SafeCare Quality Platform and the PharmAccess Most Active Private Facility on the SafeCare Quality Platform.
The public facility nominees are Orile Agege General Hospital, Ikorodu General Hospital, Ibeju-Lekki General Hospital, and Lagos Island Maternity Hospital. The private facility nominees are South Shore Women’s and Children’s Hospital, R-Jolad Hospital, Lifeline Children’s Hospital, and Lakeshore Cancer Centre.
Speaking, the Country Director of PharmAccess Foundation Nigeria, Njide Ndili, highlighted the importance of the awards, stating that: “The SafeCare methodology promotes structured quality improvement. These nominees have shown a clear commitment to patient safety and clinical excellence. We are proud to continue this partnership with NHEA to celebrate providers using data and innovation to improve healthcare outcomes.
“Over the last decade, this initiative has catalysed healthy competition to improve the health system in Nigeria.”
The nominees were chosen based on a thorough evaluation of performance metrics, quality improvement practices, and engagement with the SafeCare digital platform, which uses globally recognized standards to benchmark clinical performance.
On his part, the Project Director of NHEA, Dr. Wale Alabi described the awards as an opportunity to encourage excellence in healthcare. “Our partnership with PharmAccess has driven improvements in healthcare quality across Nigeria. This award recognizes facilities that are leading the way in innovation and accountability,” he said.
Public voting is now open, allowing Nigerians to have their say in choosing the winners. Votes can be cast on the official NHEA portal.
The NHEA 2025 awards continue to celebrate advancements in healthcare and inspire progress across the nation’s health sector.
