It was an unforgettable night of music, comedy, and celebration as entertainers gathered to mark the 60th birthday of Abimbola Emmanuela Fashola at Terra Kulture, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Saturday, May 3, 2025.

The former First Lady of Lagos State and founder of L.E.A.R.N. was honoured for her unwavering support of the creative industry and youth empowerment. The evening was filled with heartfelt moments and laughter as the entertainment community came out in full force.

Pop star Korede Bello surprised guests with a live performance of his hit “Romantic” as Mrs. Fashola danced with her husband, Babatunde Raji Fashola, former Minister of Works and Housing. He also performed “Godwin” and presented his new perfume line to the celebrant onstage.

A-list comedians including Senator, Lepacious Bose, Bow Joint, MC Larry J, Phronesis, MC Monica, and ATM delivered rib-cracking sets. Tee-A and Forever anchored the show as hosts, while veteran comedian Julius Agwu was among the VIPs.

A comic highlight came when MC Monica invited Mr. Fashola onstage and jokingly handed him a dollar bill “as empowerment,” mimicking the way politicians often offer token handouts. The room erupted in laughter.

Rising singer, Neo Phlames added a reflective note with a performance of his hit “Kadara.”

To crown the night, the Association of Comedians, MCs, and Comperes in Nigeria presented Mrs. Fashola with an award for her love and support for the industry.

“We just thought about it and said it’s important to celebrate our mummy — she brought us comedians closer to the government,” said veteran broadcaster and comedian Yaw during his tribute.

It was a celebration of legacy, laughter, and love — a night befitting a woman who has quietly shaped lives behind the scenes.
