After years of overcoming obstacles and refining his craft, Zynovox has announced his return to the rap scene with renewed vigor and a story that’s bound to inspire millions in Nigeria, the UK, and beyond.

The artist made the revelation in a statement shared with Vanguard.

The artist who hails from Enugu, Nigeria, Zynovox—Obinna Norbert Aziude, is making waves as Nigeria’s new rap sensation on a powerful comeback.

With his raw, authentic storytelling and a sound that fuses Afro-urban influences with contemporary rap, Zynovox is proving that resilience and passion can defy the odds.

His recent journey back to music, marked by personal trials and triumphant breakthroughs, is capturing the attention of music enthusiasts both in Nigeria and the UK.

Zynovox’s love for rap was evident from his early days freestyling with the Better Get Best (B.G.B.) crew in Enugu. However, as his passion grew, so did the challenges.

“Facing skepticism from family and setbacks in the industry, he temporarily set aside his dreams in 2015 to focus on his studies—pursuing architecture in Nigeria  and earning a master’s degree in the UK.

” Despite academic success, the call of music remained irresistible. In 2024, with a deeper understanding of life and his own potential and a motivation from Burna Boy’s I Told Them Tour with Phyno and Odumodu, Zynovox made a triumphant return to the rap scene.

“His comeback wasn’t without hurdles. After encountering dishonesty from industry insiders—receiving stolen beats, getting scammed by “supposed” record labels and enduring failed collaborations—Zynovox took decisive action. He remade his debut single, “Glory Bound”, with integrity, obtaining approval from the original producer to ensure his music reflected his true artistry.

“This moment of clarity and resolve marked a turning point in his career, setting the stage for a new era of honest, hard-hitting rap.

“Zynovox’s sound is a dynamic blend of Afrobeat-infused rap, gritty urban narratives, and soulful R&B elements. His lyrics, deeply rooted in personal experience, explore themes of struggle, perseverance, love, and self-belief.

“Every challenge I faced pushed me to refine my craft,” Zynovox explains. “My music isn’t just beats and rhymes—it’s my story, and I want it to empower others to rise above their obstacles.”

“This unique approach not only differentiates him from his peers but also connects with a generation eager for authenticity.

“Zynovox’s ability to mix traditional Nigerian influences with modern rap sensibilities creates a sound that resonates with both local and international audiences, establishing him as a bridge between cultures.

“Since his return, Zynovox has steadily reclaimed his place in the industry. His reimagined single “Glory Bound” has received a warm reception from fans and critics alike, affirming his artistic vision and relentless determination. Now, as he’s enjoying the credit from his recent EP release, Middle East, in February 2025.

“Middle East The EP is a groundbreaking project that has showcased his evolution as an artist. Produced in collaboration with top talents such as Blaque Beats, MF Classic, and Omofaaji, and recorded with industry professional Rob Jones TV at Manor Studio in Essex, this EP is poised to capture a broad spectrum of emotions—from the grit of street life to the sweetness of triumph. With additional collaborations in the pipeline with notable Nigerian producers like Skitter, Acetune, and Sammy Jazz, Zynovox is not only reinventing his sound but also setting a new standard in Afro-urban rap.”
