The Nigerian music scene is witnessing the rise of Emilo, a talented artist whose journey from group collaborations to solo success has captured the hearts of fans and industry players alike.

Speaking about his evolution, Emilo shared insights into his musical inspirations, challenges, and triumphs, offering a glimpse into the drive behind his artistry. 

“For me, music is more than just sound; it’s a lifestyle,” Emilo said. “The calmness, safety, and freedom it brings inspire everything I do. I’ve always drawn strength from legends like Wizkid, 2Baba, and Fela, who showed us the power of blending creativity with authenticity.” 

Emilo’s career began as a member of the DFG Squad, a collaborative group that released several singles and albums. Reflecting on those early days, he explained how working in a group shaped his understanding of music and teamwork. “Being part of DFG Squad was an incredible experience. It taught me how to blend ideas, compromise, and push boundaries together. But deep down, I always knew I wanted to explore my individuality as an artist,” he admitted. 

Since going solo, Emilo has embraced the challenges and opportunities that come with standing alone in the spotlight. Over the years, he has released eight singles and two EPs, each showcasing his growth and versatility. His latest single, which dropped last week, has been a resounding success, gaining traction on digital platforms and further cementing his position in the industry. 

“I’ve learned that solo success requires discipline and a clear vision,” he said. “You have to believe in yourself and stay consistent. That’s the only way to truly connect with your audience and create music that lasts.” 

Fans have much to look forward to as Emilo is currently working on his third project, *“Ahead Ahead”*, slated for release next month. While the exact date is yet to be announced, the anticipation is palpable. Speaking about the upcoming project, Emilo expressed his excitement: “This project is very personal to me. It’s a reflection of my journey so far, and I can’t wait for my fans to experience it.”
