The International Facility Management Association (IFMA) Nigeria Chapter has announced the election of Engr. Sheriff Daramola as its 15th President. The announcement was made at the association’s Annual General Meeting, held on December 10, 2024, in Lagos.

Engr. Daramola, a seasoned engineer with over three decades of professional experience, pledged to advance the facility management (FM) profession in Nigeria during his tenure. In his acceptance speech, he outlined a vision of growth, sustainability, and innovation for the association.

“Today marks a milestone for the continuous growth of FM in Nigeria,” he said. “We will focus on contributing to the nation’s GDP, empowering our members, and driving the profession forward. Facility management professionals must take the lead in fostering sustainability, reducing carbon footprints, and minimizing waste in service delivery.”
The new president emphasized the need for advocacy, education, and skills development, aligning with IFMA’s 11 career-based competencies. He also announced plans to foster collaborations, promote FM curricula, enhance mentorship programs, and host the prestigious IFMA Global Africa event.
Engr. Daramola brings a wealth of experience to his role. He is currently a Director at Specific Tools & Techniques Ltd, a facility management and engineering firm operating across West and East Africa. His career spans leadership roles at Stallion Property and Development Company Limited (a subsidiary of NNPC), Amalgamated Estate Limited, and Family Health International.
He is an alumnus of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, where he studied Mechanical/Production Engineering. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from Lagos State University, Ojo, and has completed the Owners Managers Programme at Lagos Business School and Strathmore University, Kenya. Engr. Daramola has also participated in international training programs in facility management.
A member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Institute of Directors, he has held numerous positions within IFMA, including Vice President, General Secretary, and Chairman of the Training Faculty. Beyond his professional contributions, he is the Chairman of the Magodo GRA Phase II Residents Association.
