NNEWI – The Bishop of the Diocese on the Niger, Rt. Rev. Dr. Owen Nwokolo, has expressed concern over the current economic hardship in Nigeria, urging citizens to place their trust in God despite the challenges.
Delivering his Christmas message at the Bishop’s Court in Onitsha, Anambra State, Bishop Nwokolo lamented the unprecedented difficulties Nigerians are facing, attributing the crisis to reckless actions and decisions by those in government.
Unprecedented Hardship: “Nigerians have never experienced hardship on this scale. Many are discouraged and disillusioned, even losing hope in themselves and the system. Families struggle to pay bills, buy daily necessities, and access basic healthcare.”
Global vs. Local Factors: “While economic challenges are a global phenomenon, Nigeria’s experience is worsened by the careless decisions of its leaders.
Encouragement to Trust in God: “Despite the hardships, Nigerians must not despair. The Lord we serve gives hope, peace, and revival. He does not change, and His promises are sure. During this Christmas period, we must recognize His omnipotence and look to Him for provision and comfort.”
Message of Hope: “Whenever you wake up, look up to God. He has promised never to forsake those who trust in Him. We wish every Nigerian a hopeful, priceless, and peaceful Christmas celebration this year.”
