Aisha Falode, mother of late Tyler Fray, has shared memories of her son’s big dreams and aspirations that were cut short by his tragic death in Dubai in 2014.

Falode, a seasoned broadcaster, recalls Tyler Fray’s dream to provide a platform for talented young Nigerians to pursue their musical aspirations.

She shared these memories, while speaking at the launch of the Tyler Fray Foundation, held during the week at the Civic Centre in Lagos. The foundation was established in memory of Oloruntoba Oluwadamilola Falode, also known as Tyler Fray.

According to her, Tyler had a big dream to make a great impact on the Nigerian music industry, but he didn’t live to fulfill his dreams. While studying music in Dubai, Falode recalled that Tyler established a small studio in his room, where his friends and classmates, who couldn’t afford studio sessions would come and do their assignments free of charge.

Also, Tyler registered a music company, Mr Fray Music, with an aim to generate money to give back to society. The Tyler Fray Foundation was established by his family to keep his legacy and dreams alive. It aims to provide a platform for talented young Nigerians to pursue their musical aspirations and overcome challenges that may hinder their dreams.

The foundation also announced a scholarship programme for five students to specialize in music. The launch event was attended by dignitaries, including Shehu Dikko and Dele Momodu.

Aisha Falode described Tyler’s passion for music and commitment to his craft as a continuous source of inspiration for the foundation’s mission. Tyler’s sister, Tolu Falode, said the foundation is a combination of her late brother’s vision, which he had since he was seven years old.
