SOKOTO – The civil society group Renewed Hope Advocates has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for reappointing Mrs. Fatima Shinkafi as the Executive Secretary of the Solid Minerals Development Fund (SMDF) and the Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative (PAGMI), calling it a “wise decision.”

In a statement issued by the group’s national president, Ahmed Abdul Usman, the group praised Shinkafi for her effective leadership of both initiatives. They noted that she had managed the affairs of SMDF and PAGMI with dedication and commitment since her initial appointment by former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The group rejected criticism of Shinkafi’s reappointment, asserting that those opposing her were motivated by personal interests and a desire to undermine the government. They urged Shinkafi to remain focused and continue her efforts in advancing the country’s solid mineral sector in line with the president’s Renewed Hope agenda.

Shinkafi’s leadership has been marked by integrity and significant progress, with no accusations of wrongdoing during her tenure.
