The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN has inducted 1,347 new members in addition to the 64,073 members.

Speaking at the 74th Induction Ceremony for New Members at the ICAN Centre in Lagos, Diamond President of ICAN, Chief Davidson Alaribe, said that the inductees have become a part of the over three million global professional accountants, under the umbrella of the International Federation of Accountants, IFAC; Chartered Accountants Worldwide, CAW; Pan-African Federation of Accountants, PAFA and Association of Accounting Bodies of West Africa, ABWA.
He said accountants serve as the unsung heroes behind the scenes, ensuring the financial health and integrity of organizations, especially in the dynamic and ever-evolving business landscape.

To the inductees, Alaribe said: “I therefore urge you all to ensure that you uphold the highest standards of ethics and honesty. Be determined to stand out and continually entrench the principles of integrity and accuracy.

“As we bask in the success of induction, I encourage you all to embrace a lifelong commitment to learning and growth. Be reminded always that the more you learn, the more you grow. The professional environment is evolving more rapidly than ever before.

“This volatile environment, shaped by technological innovation, regulatory shifts, and changing market demands, constantly presents a unique set of challenges for professionals. It is therefore vital to adapt, innovate, and stay at the forefront of knowledge to remain relevant in an ever-evolving professional landscape.

“The institute has eight Faculties to help our members specialize and sharpen their skills in the various parts of Accounting.

“I urge you to ascertain that you belong to a Faculty, I also encourage you to constantly visit the Members Professional Development Department page to keep abreast of the technical and professional competencies that will set you apart in delivering value to your diverse clientele.”
