Connect to gain information, grow together – Varsiy don charges alumni

A Professor in the Lagos State University, LASU, Ojo, Abike Bolarinwa has stressed the need for alumni to ensure regular contact, share information in order to enhance growth among members and society at large.

This comes as LASU 2006 Accounting Alumni Association, expressed commitment towards fostering meaningful connections through sustained bonding to create positive impact on communities.

Bolarinwa, who is the Head of Department, Accounting, LASU, and Mr. Oluwaseun Akinnudi, Coordinator of the 2006 Accounting Alumni, made the remarks at alumni “Second Reunion Party,” themed: “Re-Connect to Connect,” held at the weekend in Ikeja, Lagos.

The prof, who connected to the occasion via online platform, urged the alumni to continue to come together and grow so as to gain connections and solve issues, “This will help the new generations.”

Bolarinwa stressed the need for the Alumni to continue to have regular contact with each other so as to gain information that would improve and enable them grow from one level to even greater level.

Earlier, Akinnudi, in his address said, “This gathering is a testament to our shared commitment to fostering meaningful connections and celebrating the bond that unites us as Ex-LASUites.

“As we reconnect, let us cherish old memories, create new ones, and explore opportunities to support one another and our alma mater. Together, we can continue to strengthen our community and make a lasting impact.”

“The 2006 Accounting Set of Lagos State University Alumni Association, is a vibrant community of professionals united by shared experiences and a collective commitment to strengthening our bonds.

“Our group serves as a platform for reconnecting with old friends, fostering new relationships, and driving initiatives that benefit our members and society at large.”

Akinnudi stressed that the mission of the association is, “To create an inclusive and supportive alumni network that empowers members, fosters professional growth, and contributes meaningfully to the development of our alma mater.

“While the vision is, to be a leading alumni association known for its unity, impact and unwavering dedication for excellence in all endeavors.

“Our association thrives on the shared efforts and active participation of all members. By leveraging our collective strengths and commitment, we continue to build a strong and impactful alumni network that drives us toward achieving our goals.

“We encourage all members to actively engage in our activities, including professional networking, mentorship programs, and initiatives that give back to Lagos State University.

“Together, we can build a lasting legacy of excellence and create opportunities that benefit both our alumni community and future generations. Let’s stay connected, inspired, and committed to making a difference.”
