Silverbird Group has announced that Lilian Madubulum, a 27-year-old dancer from Anambra State, has set a new record at Silverbird’s World of Records, SWORD, by dancing non-stop for 55 hours and 49 minutes.

This new achievement surpasses the 2005 record set by Kafayat ‘Kaffy’ Shafau and is a milestone not just for Lilian, but for the entire Nigerian entertainment industry.

Lilian emerged victorious among 25 contestants who participated in the marathon dance competition held at the Silverbird Galleria.

The event kicked off on Friday, November 1, 2024, and ended with Lilian as the last dancer standing, driven by her passion to defy expectations and challenge stereotypes. In recognition of her incredible perseverance and spirit, she was awarded a cash prize of 1 million naira. For Silverbird Group, Lilian’s achievement is just the beginning.

Jacob Akinyemi Johnson (JAJ), Chief Creative Officer of Silverbird Group, expressed the company’s commitment to championing Nigerian talent on a global stage: According to him, “Lilian’s record-breaking performance at SWORD is a testament to the incredible talents that exist in Nigeria. SWORD marks a new era for Silverbird Group, as it sets its sights on making Nigerian talent a global phenomenon. This dance marathon is only the beginning – there are many more groundbreaking talents to discover, celebrate, and export to the world.

With media appearances lined up for Lilian, including television, radio, and digital platforms, Silverbird Group will ensure her success story reaches far and wide”.
