Let’s celebrated a life dedicated to justice, protection, and community service, a legacy that will resonate for generations to come.

Born on March 12, 1972, in the small town of Onicha Uku, Delta State, Harrison’s story is one of humble beginnings. Raised in a close-knit community, he learned early the values of discipline and respect that would define his career. It was in his youth that his passion for public service took root, a dream nurtured by a desire to protect his people.

Harrison’s career in the Nigeria Police Force began on November 15, 1989, when he joined as a recruit constable in Edo State. From the outset, he was known for his commitment to duty and strong sense of justice. His time at the Ugbekun division in Benin City provided the foundation he needed, honing his skills and preparing him for the challenges ahead.

Even while serving the nation, Harrison pursued higher education, enrolling at Delta State University. Balancing his academic pursuits with his duties as an officer, he graduated with a degree in Geography and Regional Planning in 2000—a feat few officers achieve. This educational milestone marked the beginning of his rise through the ranks, with each new position reinforcing his dedication to both his community and profession.

His steady ascent began with his promotion to Corporal in 1996 and Sergeant in 2002. These ranks saw him take on a variety of responsibilities in different parts of Nigeria, including assignments in Ogun and Lagos States, where he tackled some of the most demanding cases. His colleagues admired his resilience and his unfailing determination to make a difference wherever he served.

On January 1, 2003, Eche achieved the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), a pivotal moment that set the stage for even greater challenges. He soon became known as a reliable leader in crises, a “Commander of Peace” who inspired trust in every officer under his command.

One of the most cherished phases of Harrison’s career was his time as Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in various states, including Ajaokuta, Kogi State. His role as DPO allowed him to serve communities in an impactful way, coordinating critical operations that ensured the safety of countless Nigerians. He was equally lauded for his leadership as Commander of the Federal Highway Patrol in Ogun State, where he set a new standard in highway security.

His commitment to growth led him back to academia, where he pursued a master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems at Delta State University in 2019. His peers marveled at his drive to keep learning and improving, even as he balanced his demanding role as Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP). For Harrison, education was not just a personal achievement but a tool to enhance his contributions to the police force.

Eche’s tenure as DPO in Lagos highlighted his exceptional ability to connect with local communities. From Itire to Ejigbo and beyond, he fostered relationships based on mutual respect and understanding, encouraging residents to see law enforcement as allies in the fight against crime. His dedication to community-oriented policing remains a model for young officers.

Over the years, Eche’s career has been marked by numerous honors, including the Officer of the Year award in 2023, an Award of Excellence from the Human Rights Group in Sapele in 2021, and the Prestigious Observer Network International Media Life Achiever Award of Recognition and so on. These accolades reflect his tireless commitment to excellence and the high esteem in which he is held by his colleagues and community members alike.

In addition to his service within Nigeria, Eche represented the country on international assignments with the United Nations and African Union, where he worked alongside global leaders to combat organized crime and promote peace.
