Alimosho residents urge Lagos govt to fix Isheri-Oshun-Jakande Estate road

By  Charles Kumolu

Lagos-Residents of Isheri-Oshun in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State are grumbling over the state government’s inability to fix the Isheri-Oshun-Jakande Estate Road which it started several years ago.

The residents said they literally ‘’pass through hell,’’ to conduct their businesses in other parts of the state due to the poor condition of the road and the Ijegun- Ikotun-Ejigbo- Jakande – Cele Express road which were the only link roads to the area, wondering what they had done to deserve such ‘’punishment.’’

Spokesman for the residents, Chief Adisa Akiode said residents of Ikotun,  Ejigbo, Isheri- Oshun and Ijegun were the most neglected in the state even though they had always voted for the ruling party, Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN. He said those areas were the only parts of Lagos where both the local and state governments were not willing to develop.

He said: ‘’For over five years now, we have not seen any government presence in form of construction of ordinary culverts across most parts of the local government roads.

’’At Ejigbo, all we hear about is dispute between the Federal  and the Lagos State Governments over which government should construct the ever busy road which leads to the NNPC depot in the area.”
