ABEOKUTA – Hard times await quacks and bogus healthcare practitioners in Ogun State as the state government has begun a clampdown on unregistered medical practitioners and hospital premises.
The state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Olaokun Soyinka who announced this in a chat, said a major campaign was being targeted against quacks in the healthcare industry to restore confidence in the medical profession.
Soyinka, who warned that the campaign would be thorough and all-encompassing, said it would be focused in the border areas with surrounding states around Abeokuta and other parts of the state.
He vowed that it would also be focused in the border areas where enumerators would go out to check on all types of healthcare facilities, and health centres operating in the state, and those found wanting would be appropriately taken care of.
