Yenagoa- Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial candidate for the February 11 governorship election, Mr. Henry Dickson, yesterday, said he would facilitate a new master plan for the development of Yenagoa as the state capital.

Speaking at Okolobiri in the Yenagoa Local Government Area at the flag off of his campaign rally,  Dickson, said the implementation of the existing master plan was lopsided and that the current status of Yenagoa was not befitting of a state capital.

He told the crowd that the Restoration Agenda would be for total transformation of the state in every sector.

“PDP has re-invented itself in the state and through our campaigns, we want to re-invent and create a new Bayelsa State. In the new Bayelsa we all sought after, we will build new roads in Yenagoa, create new investments and infrastructure. We must create a new Yenagoa worthy to be called the capital of the state. We will also focus on education and human capacity development.

“New primary schools and boarding model secondary schools would be built across the state to make education free and compulsory to all. We will build new schools and train our teachers to achieve quality education for our children. We will provide boarding schools, free and compulsory education. We will conquer our so called difficult terrain and open new roads to Brass, Oporoma, Ekeremor, Agge and others. But we need peace in the land. With your support, we are confident of total victory,” Dickson said.

He said the campaign of calumny against his emergence and that of his running mate by his political detractors would not stand.
