Ahead of the forthcoming Edo Governorship Election, the Ureshemi Solidarity Movement has appointed Jolly Joseph as Director General to pilot the affairs of the Movement and ensure the success of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Sen. Monday Okpebholo in the September election.

Speaking during the declaration, in Abuja, Mr Victor Akande, a two-time House of Assembly aspirant from Akoko-Edo and Senior Legislative Aide to the President of the Senate, said the appointment of Joseph is with immediate effect.

He described the DG of the support group as “a renowned political strategist with a track record of delivering in every election.

“His option was a natural and acceptable choice due to the display of his leadership skills and unwavering loyalty to the ideals championed by Sen. Okpebholo.

“Mr. Jolly Joseph, who was a former Ward 5 Councillor in Akoko-Edo, is charged with the task of canvassing support for the governorship candidate of the APC in the September 21 governorship election by embarking on a campaign, traversing the length and breadth of Akoko-Edo to garner support and rally the masses behind the vision of Sen. Okpebholo and Mr Idahosa.”

While thanking the former House of Assembly aspirant for finding him worthy of the assignment, the Director General promised to “roll out a holistic blueprint towards the campaign and election victory of the All Progressives Congress in Edo North and Akoko Edo in Particular.”
