The major responsibility of any government within the state is the security and welfare of the people.
As contain in the Nigeria 1999 constitution, Chapter 2, Section 14 Sub 2 (b) The security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government:
In this case of plateau massacre as orchestrated by some enemy of the Nigeria state on Monday 25th December, 2023, as a Matter of fact, there needs to be proper investigation into the matter.
The major reason why Plateau Massacre is a breach of agreement by the government of the people is that as stated in the constitution of Nigeria, the Nigeria government has failed in it major responsibility in securing the lives of the people, in this matter there is a breach of agreement by the government of the people.
You may ask me why, when the people realise they need help, then some set of people were elected to govern them, in this case this set of people were reffered to as the Government.
Once the government failed in securing the people, that’s a breach of agreement.
As a matter of urgency the federal government of Nigeria needs to declare a state of emergency to address the state of insecurity within the Nation.
There needs to be some tactical engagement of the force to combat insecurity within Nigeria, though the plateau massacre is not the first occurrence of such within Nigeria, rather the Nigeria government especially the federal government needs to wade in to address the matter with a sense of necessity before another occurrence of such act thereby making it the last within the Nation.
Nigeria in the 90’s is known for peace and unity, but with the advent of Government ineptitude, we are face with delapidated state of insecurity within our nation, most especially within the northern region of Nigeria.
The only way out of this chaotic situation we find ourselves as a nation is for our government to address the aspirations of each region.
Though no Government, expecially the President of the Nation will want any region to secede during his or her own tenure, but the president can address the yearnings and aspirations of the people by making policies that will fit in to their needs and aspirations.
We are a people bless with diverse culture and ethnic groups, if only we can utilize what we have to address our needs we won’t be in a state of hopelessness.
Rather I realized that what we have, the natural resources we are blessed with as a Nation, are making us to fight ourselves.
If only the government will look beyond self impoverishment and be people-centric in nature, then there will be smile on the common man’s face.
All we need to survive as a nation is within us as a nation, but the problem is in it allocation.
There needs to be proper allocation for development by the government of Nigeria.
The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu renewed hope agenda for Nigeria needs to address the burdens on the people.
I believed in his renewed hope agenda and I encourage every well and meaning Nigerians to collaborate with this administration in ensuring the reality of the renewed hope agenda for Nigeria.
Some Nigerians are blaming this current administration of President Tinubu of not meeting up with their aspirations within the first 6 months in office, the truth of the matter is that we can’t expect what has be spoilt for several years to be adjusted within 6 months automatically.
The first 6 months of president Tinubu’s administration is just 12.1% of the 100% of his first tunure in office, we need to join hands together and make this nation (Nigeria) great.
Though the previous government has failed Nigerians in some aspect expecially in security sector, we need to be hopeful in this present administration and join hands together.
The way out for Nigeria insecurity
The major way out for Nigeria’s insecurity, kidnapping and terrorism is job creation for employment by the government and the private sector, an idle hand is the devil’s workshop, so says the book of proverbs. Once the youths are engaged with meaningful and well paying employment, no man or woman will engage them in a distard act against the Nation.
We have what it takes to bring ourselves out of this incapacitated situation we find ourselves as a nation, but we need to be patient in reaching our target as a Nation.
The unnecessary expenditure in the budget for some aspect needs to be cut to address the humanitarian needs of Nigerians.
The question that needs to be ask about the plateau massacre is that what does the mastermind behind the act needs, either from the government or the people.
Some people said the mastermind are either Bandits or Boko Haram terrorist, but the major issue is that those mastermind are relaying a message to the government of Nigeria.
Plateau massacre can be linked to herders/farmers crisis, the herders want a land for grazing while the farmers are using the land for farming, in this case there is a misunderstanding between the herders and the farmers and in which mostly the herders are striking and the Nigeria government needs to intervene urgently to address the situation before it becomes outrageous.
For any problem, there is always a solution.
