World leading Whiskey Jack Daniel’s Old No7 Tennessee Whiskey, is presently holding a worldclass training & competition for bar staff selected from about thirty (30) different bars, hotels, restaurants and clubs across Lagos State at the Lekki Waterside Hotel, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.
Two bar staff from each location – bar, hotel, club, etc – were selected to create a Jack Daniel’s cocktail on a promo night. The cocktails were served to customers who chose the best ones. The bar members of staff who created the best cocktails were then shortlisted for the international Jack Daniel’s Bar Staff Training.
This unique event which started on Monday, 5th December, 2011, is scheduled to run for at least 2 weeks. During the training, participating bar members of staff would be trained to international standards. They would be given different tasks to perform during the course of their training (which is on 3 different levels).
Gradually, they would be pruned down at each level until 5 finalists emerge. The best bar staff from the top 5 will then win a scholarship for an extra International Bartending Course courtesy of Jack Daniel’s.
According to the brand’s Portfolio Manager here in Nigeria, Oyindamola Dallas, the brand intends to use this avenue to groom professionals among bar staff across Lagos. “We hope to raise professional bar mebers of satff that could in turn be ambassadors of our brand in their respective bars and places of work.
All the selected bar staff will get a Certificate of Attendance at the end of the training which would prove that they’ve had professional training,” she said and also disclosed that, “the winner would also get to be the official Jack Daniel’s bar staff for any event the brand is going to be hosting subsequently.”
