Chairman of the electoral committee, Navy Capt Caleb Olubolade, a former military administrator of Bayelsa State declared Seriake Dickson as winner of the primaries having polled the highest number of votes.

In his acceptance speech Seriake Dickson thanked all the delegates and his rivals especially Chief Francis Doukpola, Youpele Kalango, Fred Ekiyegha and others for courage promising to running an all inclusive government when voted into power come February 2012.
